Getting Married? | Planning a Christening?
If you've just got engaged - congratulations! We'd love to help you arrange your wedding! Today more than a quarter of all marriages in England between a man and a woman take place in the traditional setting of a Church of England church. You're welcome to marry in church whatever your beliefs, whether or not you are baptised and whether or not you go to church. You can be married in church if you or your parents live in the parish (to check just type your postal address into the search box on this site), or you have a family connection with the church (e.g. you were christened here, or your parents/grandparents were married here). Come and talk to us to find out more. For further advice: Come to our Parish Office which is open every Saturday between 10 & 12 in St Michael's Church, Great Coates Road, Little Coates DN34 4ND and we'll be happy to help with your enquiries and bookings. For URGENT matters please contact the Rector on 01472 280 477 or email: |
We believe your child is precious to God, just as they're precious to you! We'd love to help you celebrate that with a christening in church. A christening (or baptism - they mean the same thing) is a special ceremony where water is poured on the head three times, as a symbol of new life and new beginnings, as well as welcoming a child into God's family.
Everyone is welcome to have their children christened in their parish church. During the christening service your child will be baptised and with the support of the church, you and Godparents, your child begins an amazing journey of faith.

Confirmation | A Time Of Loss
Confirmations are NOT permitted during the current period of Lockdown. Taking the step of faith to be confirmed is a big decision. |
During the period of national Lockdown funerals can be attended by a maximum of 30 people, and it is advised that only close friends and family attend. Linked ceremonial events such as stone settings and ash scatterings can also continue with up to 15 people in attendance. Anyone working is not included. Social distancing should be maintained between people who do not live together or share a support bubble. For further advice about Funerals during the Covid-19 Pandemic please contact the Rector on 01472 280 477 or email:
Experiencing the death of a loved one can be a difficult time in anyone’s life. In the days months and years ahead there are many challenges. A funeral marks the close of a human life on earth.
